Why no one runs alone

PRC

I started PuneRunners Club because running alone in Pune was harder than it needed to be.

The city is full of runners. Every tekdi at sunrise proves it. But if you were new, slow, coming back from an injury or just did not know anyone, there was no obvious door to knock on. Most groups were built around a pace, a location or a training plan. I wanted one built around people.

So PRC is simple. A tribe of runners, joggers and walkers in Pune. We organise events and meet up at races. Members plan their own runs. Find company and make plans in the WhatsApp community. Nobody checks your pace at the door.

No one runs alone

It is not a slogan for a t-shirt. It is the idea the club is built on. Nobody should have to start running on their own. Say hello in the WhatsApp community and you will find people at your pace. That is the whole point.

From 3K to the full marathon

The vision is a ladder. Your first 3K. Then 5K without stopping. Then 10K, the half and one day the full. You can stop on any rung you like and stay there happily. But if you want to climb, the people who did it before you are right here.

Who it is for

Runners, joggers and walkers. Beginners first. Women runners, absolutely. Cyclists and triathletes too, because the training overlaps and the company is good. If you are wondering whether you are fit enough to join, you are.

The rules, in short

  1. 01
Be kind. Everyone was a beginner once.
  2. 02
No headphones on group runs. Talk to the person next to you.
  3. 03
Run at the pace of the slowest person in your group.
  4. 04
No bib selling or buying. It is unsafe and against race rules.
  5. 05
No spam. No selling, no promotions without asking the mods first.
